Who is SOFT LIFE for?

SOFT LIFE is for artists, freelancers, creative workers and creatively driven people who are craving space to slow down, reconnect and be in meaningful community.

It is especially designed for people who often live in movement, pressure, visibility or uncertainty, and want time to rest without needing to perform.

Who is this space especially for?

SOFT LIFE is especially for artists, freelancers, queer people, trans people, marginalised people and anyone who may not always feel fully held in traditional travel, retreat or wellness spaces.

It is for people who may struggle to travel alone, feel nervous arriving into new group spaces, or want to be part of a retreat where care, safety and belonging are actively considered.

You are welcome to arrive alone. The retreat is designed to create a soft, thoughtful and held environment where people can land into community at their own pace.

Is this a wellness retreat?

Not exactly. SOFT LIFE includes practices that may support wellbeing, but it is not a luxury wellness brand, a spiritual programme or a self-improvement retreat.

It sits somewhere between a retreat, an artist residency and a slow summer gathering.

Do I need to be an artist to come?

No. You do not need to identify as an artist in a formal way. SOFT LIFE is for people who are creative, curious, open and interested in rest, exchange and community.

What happens on the retreat?

Each retreat is shaped around the people attending.

There may be movement, meditation, shared meals, conversation, swimming, reading, workshops, creative exchange, rest, walks, body-based practices and time alone.

All activities are optional.

Do I have to lead something?

No. There is no expectation to lead, teach or offer anything.

You are welcome to come simply as a guest — to rest, receive, participate, retreat, sleep, swim, read or just be.

If you do feel called to share something, there will be space to play with that. It could be a jewellery workshop, movement practice, massage offering, film screening, reading, conversation, sound session, album playback, feedback circle, or something you are currently developing and want to gently test with others.

Offerings can be very small or more spacious — anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. The exchange should feel easeful and meaningful, not like another thing to prepare for or be stressed by.

Anyone leading a longer or more intensive workshop may be offered an honorarium or money back towards their place, in recognition of their time, care and contribution.

Do I have to take part in everything?

No. Participation is always optional. You are welcome to join, rest, observe, retreat, sleep, read, swim, walk or simply be.

There is no pressure to perform, share or be constantly social.

Is SOFT LIFE spiritual?

SOFT LIFE is not connected to any single religion, philosophy or spiritual ideology.

Some optional practices may draw from ritual, embodiment, meditation or healing spaces, but the focus is on softness, care, exchange and rest.

Will there be movement or dance?

Yes, movement may be part of the retreat, but you do not need to be a dancer or have any movement experience.

The movement practice is gentle, intuitive and body-led. It is about listening, softening and coming home to yourself.

Can I come alone?

Yes. Many people will come alone. SOFT LIFE is designed to create a soft sense of temporary community, so you do not need to arrive with anyone.

The retreat will consider the needs of people who may feel nervous travelling alone, especially queer, trans and marginalised people who may not always feel safe or held in unfamiliar spaces.

Is the retreat accessible?

Access needs will be considered as part of the application and curation process.

SOFT LIFE will always aim to cater to the access needs of the people who are accepted onto each retreat. For example, if you require a wheelchair-accessible retreat and are accepted, the retreat will be shaped around making that possible.

The intention is not to ask people to fit into a fixed structure, but to build each gathering with care around the needs of the group attending.

Where is the retreat?

The first SOFT LIFE retreat is planned for summer 2026. Location details will be shared with selected applicants and waitlist members.

How do I apply?

You can join the waitlist through the application page.

Once applications open, you will be invited to share a little about yourself, your current rhythm of life, and why SOFT LIFE feels resonant for you.

How are guests selected?

SOFT LIFE is curated with care.

The intention is to bring together a thoughtful mix of people from different creative backgrounds, ages, identities and experiences, so the group feels open, generous and balanced.

Is this a networking space?

Not in the traditional sense.

SOFT LIFE is built around connection and exchange, but not pressure, self-promotion or industry performance.

The hope is that meaningful relationships can form more naturally through rest, conversation and shared time.

What should I expect to leave with?

Hopefully more space in your body.

More connection. More rest. New conversations, new relationships, and a deeper sense of what it might mean to live and create from a softer place.
